O.P. Taezhnaya-Cheshuina - sculptor, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. She specialized in the field of easel and decorative sculpture, was engaged in plastics of small forms. The sculpture "Giselle" was made in 1954 in the series "Ballet". Giselle is the main character of the ballet of the same name by the French composer A.-Ch. Adana is a peasant girl who died without surviving the deception of her lover, Count Albert. Having turned into a "willis" (ghost), she, nevertheless, by the power of her pure love saved Albert from inevitable death. One of the best performers of the part of Giselle was the outstanding ballerina G.S. Ulanova. According to the author's testimony, it was she who served as a model for the sculpture "Giselle." The ballerina is depicted standing on pointe with her hands with a bouquet of flowers pressed to her chest. The inscription on the face of the stand: "Giselle". The Kasli plant has been casting the sculpture since 1957.
