PC. Klodt is a Russian sculptor, professor of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Rome, Paris, Berlin art academies, the founder of the animalistic genre in Russian art. He worked in the field of small forms plastics, easel and monumental sculpture of a classicist and realistic nature. XIX - early. XX century. The Kaslinsky plant cast according to the models of P.K. Klodt, about two dozen statuettes and sculptural groups. The sculpture "A foal jumping over a stump" was made in the 1850s. It depicts a young horse rearing to jump over a high stump. The Kasli plant has been casting the sculpture since the 1880s.
