M.D. Kanaev is a sculptor and medalist, a graduate of the Russian Academy of Arts. Was the first professional sculptor of the Kasli plant. He headed an art workshop and taught at an art school created by him at the plant. He created a number of models for artistic casting from cast iron. The sculpture "Hercules" was made in 1854 in the style of classicism. Hercules (Roman, Greek - Hercules) is a character of ancient mythology, the son of Zeus and the mortal woman Alcmene. He was distinguished by unusual strength, valor and nobility. He completed 12 great feats, after which the gods granted him immortality. A figure of a bearded, half-naked athlete in a lion's skin, stepping forward with a huge stone over his head. The stand is low, oval; the Kasli plant has been casting the sculpture since 1881.
